Manchester United drop two precious points at Villa Park

The chance to close on joint league leaders Chelsea and Liverpool was wide opened for Manchester United.

The Red Champions played Martin O’Neil’s Aston Villa away from home in Saturday’s late kick-off and could only draw goalless, just as Chelsea and Liverpool did against Newcastle and Fulham respectively.

Wayne Rooney missed a great chance to break the dead lock while Cristiano Ronaldo picked a leg injury.

In general, Manchester United did not have the best of luck on Saturday. The EPL defending champions are still 8 points off rivals Chelsea and Liverpool.
